Btw, Wasnex is right. The late Bill Moore used to come on here and say that the SVT transformer is fine with an 8 ohm, even if you crank it up. Your 8 ohm cab may not make it through turning it up to 11, but it's fine with a 2:1 mismatch. I've done it a lot with rental rigs and nothing bad ever happened.

That's not modern day Ampeg's stance on it, but Dino the Ampeg Guy once told me he had that discussion with the powers that be and they are erring on the side of caution.

For the OP - you don't actually KNOW if the drivers are 32Ω unless you remove a driver and check. If they are 8Ω, wired series/parallel, then you could rewire it as all parallel for a 2Ω cab as mentioned. I think it would be worth checking if having a 2Ω cab is your goal. You wouldn't even have to measure the DC resistance -- if it's wired as all parallel already, then it would be 32Ω drivers.

Well... The goal wasn't necessarily a 2 ohm cab, but a solution to use a single 410HE with an SVT head. And for sad certain, there ain't one--- I should have googled replacement drivers instead of asking here, but I sure appreciate the discussion.

There is no way I am going to buy new (different) drivers for a perfectly functional cab, and a 4 ohm sealed 410 seems to be a bit of a unicorn anyway.
