Rewiring pickups fo Yamaha TRB 6PII possible?

Hello my friends, i have a question...

Is it possible to rewire a Yamaha TRB 6PII into parallel?
I like the sound of the pickups but i want to have more tonal variety such as the bass working in singles (like a JazzBass) with a coil tap...

for what I remember those pups are not dual coil in the traditional sense. I don't think it can be done...

I have a TRB6 project that I am working on right now and have been looking closely at the pickups. They are basically two stacked spilt coils for noise canceling in each pickup. I tried to pull the coils out of the covers and I'm not sure it can be done without destroying the pickups. Most of the wiring connections are buried in the case and would be very tricky to get at to re-solder for a different configuration. Each pickup has only a ground and hot lead. Hope this helps.

Thanx for the reply! I didn't get to that part yet, i was curious in knowing if can be done, otherwise i'll have to buy dual coils to wire in parallel and install a coil tap..

Thanx bfreelove! Unfortunately bad news because these PU's are great in series, but for slapping in a band they loose attack and presence. My guess is that if i wire in parallel with a coil tap and switch to singles, i would gain better attack and presence for slapping...
