Hello, Check out this clip
Looks like a new custom spector bass!
Is Spector going to make a Tele bass now?
He should have gotten one with a holoflash finish.
Mr. Brown not using a Rex? Isn't that his trademark?
I'm a huge Down fan and all I ever seen him play were black Spectors that didn't have the Rex body. He has a super sweet 8 string too.
It reminds me of the Tele-shaped Fernandes bass he had w-a-y back in the day. Anyone remember??
That's actually pretty rad. I bet that was/is a one-off for him though. Same body as his custom Fernandes and ESPs.
When he was playing with Down on the last tour I saw him with a new blue NS2 he talked about in his BP Mag interview.
Yup, the 5'er w/ P/J's in the "Walk" vid.
Ah. I saw on the artist page of their site that they thanked him in particular for playing the Rex's. Also, Rex Brown, Spector Rex, kinda assumed the shape was designed for/by him.
It is. That's just not the same bass or design.
I wish Rex would come out more about the basses he's used over the years. He's had some really cool stuff but it's tough as hell to find/verify info on it. Grinning Elk has some of his pieces F/S. The brown 5'er and holoflash 4 make me :love:!
Not sure if its the same one but he said last year he's having a tele shape bass built for him by ESP with x2 EMG35dc pickups
he must have got spector to make one too
Yep I saw that one on Down's Wiki page a while back. Not sure if it's still up.
Looks like the singer is playing a Spector guitar, Rex shape.
The beginning of that clip sounds a lot like a Rebel Meets Rebel tune...
That is rad as hell. Serious clout, that man has
Yeah it does look like the same or at the very least a similar model.
Can someone get Rex a sammich already?? Jeez guy looks at least 20lbs lighter than last time I saw him with Down...
Well he's off the booze now!
Yeah but with his size, hope he's not onto something else that's a lot worse...
He`s had some health problems - acute pancreatitis to be exact.
I don't care for the single-cutaway shape, but it is Rex...
Speaking of Rex, this video was one of the ones that made me want to start playing bass.
The bass he has in that vid is actually FS right now.
