RH450 problem!

just to let anyone who's interested know:

I heard from TC by email from the "support account" before 9 a.m. this morning. Nothing earth shattering but they were gonna get me to submit all the info so they could issue a return authorization. I let them know the head was already on it's way via Club Bass with all the info and if they needed anything else to let me know.

Nice to know they got back to me within a day (plus the time difference if tech support international is in Denmark)

It's good to learn that tc' is on the ball re your amp.

Product support is always the other shoe waiting to drop after the launch of new gear--especially when said gear is loaded with proprietary technology.

BTW. I had a look at Club Bass' web site last night. It seems that C.B. no longer carries Markbass amplifiers.

Hey yeah look at that....I hadn't noticed the web site. Dave still had a few MB pieces there so I figured they were still selling them.

I talked to Dave about the Markbass stuff and he said that based on price point vs features, he felt that the Markbass stuff was pricing itself out of the market.
So in an effort to supply his clients with the best product at the best price, he has taken on Orange and Ibanez "Promethean" (sorry for the bad spelling)

This could explain why Club Bass stopped selling PJB products a while back.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] now carries Phil Jones' product line. Perhaps Markbass will be next.

So, I just got a call from Dave at Club Bass>>TC sent a new RH450 for me:hyper:

Gonna go pick it up, make sure it's ok, reload my presets (I scribbled down my settings JUST in case my amp never came back) and should be good to go for a short gig tomorrow early afternoon..COOL!:bassist:

Not bad- I only dropped it off Tuesday!?

Nicely done guys! Short of walking out of Club Bass with a new head Tuesday afternoon:rolleyes: I can't think of how this could have been handled any better.

Thanks very much Dave, you're a 1st class guy.

Cheers

Eddie

Well done. Dave is a stand up guy!

And it good to know TC is a good company to deal with.
All the rest of their products and divisions are great.

I thought you could store the presets on a PC? Don't they have an editor?

Not that I know of. Be nice if they were working on one but I'm not sure how you'd communicate to and from the head? The AES port seems to be just a bit stream OUT (no indication you could send anything IN on it??) No usb jack etc...

My 10¢ plan was to make up a few sheets with the knob lay out and below that the "Shift" knob lay out and just count up the leds + or - from 12 oclock.
Just like the old Console cheat sheets from before the days of moving fader automation...

Miraculously, it worked! and all without the aid of a research team, a bunch of programmers and another bunch of Beta testers, marketing team etc etc..:hiding:

Easy to forget in this digital world that lots of stuff was accomplished with pencil and paper just a few years ago:D

Cheers

I know this is an old thread but it is the only one that I found with someone that has a similar problem as the one I am running into with my RH450. It cuts out and I was able to figure out that it is due to a bad connection with the headphone jack. When it cuts out during a gig if I push my finger into the headphone jack it comes back on. I am not under warranty so I have to figure out how best to repair.

Have you tried squirting contact cleaner onto a plug and inserting it into the headphone jack a few times to clean its switch contacts?
