Rice Cooker

Mine's a Walmart special I got on Maui when I was living there. My Singaporean wife's mother also gave us a real fancy and huge one for a wedding present. I think it could feed an army of Ghandi's for a month with one use. Great simple meal: 2 cups white rice, 3.5 cups of water, slice up a couple lap chong (chinese sweet sausage), a cup of frozen peas, drop it all in the rice cooker, press the button, go play some bass for 20 minutes, then eat.

According to my wife, for any type of rice: immediately after the cooker kicks beeps or turns off or whatever it does to let you know it is done... fluff the rice with a spatula and re-cover for 10 minutes. Then eat. I always forget this part and the rice I make is a little dense.

Rice shouldn't be sticky. It should be sort of fluffy and not stuck together.

Unless of course sticky is a brand name...

She gets it. She's being sarcastic. See the joke is in the fact that rice should not actually be sticky, and she is operating on the common knowledge everyone knows that, so when she said it was perfectly sticky she was saying that her rice cooker doesn't make good rice. She'd rather get a chuckle out saying it this way, rather than just saying she has a bad rice cooker. See what she did there? :eyebrow::rollno:

You can thank me in beers. :D
