Watched it the other night when it came on. Great interview, especially loved the part where he said that artists shouldn't let their audience be the ones to dictate what they play.

I'm curious about the validity of the reports that say he's almost never in the studio with the artist. I know Slipknot complained about this publicly. Given the amount of records he produces in a year, it wouldn't surprise me.

A very close friend of mine is an engineer who has worked on 2 albums produced by Rubin. He had nothing bad to say at all about the experiences. He said it was “unconventional” but nobody complained and all involved were happy with the end result.
