Sitting here with Friend Cole Wengerd from Millersburg,Ohio and has told me many times about a Series 2001 he bought in Albuquerque in 1978 ! It was White with Black pick gaurd and was old then ! Rick' says no 2001 was made ! But he owned on and sold it to buy gas to College! He wants it back ! Deep buckle scars on Back ! Came from a country west'n Band! Hope I can be some Help! I find guitars like this in my collection that are onomilys as well! Kindest Ruston Baker ,Ohio

There's one rickenbacker 4002 in white finish made in 1979;
It resides in Brazil ... Very RARE!!! It looks like a 4001 but has the electronics of a 4002 the pickups are in 4001 placement .
There's also a 2014 rickenbacker 4002 made for a company employee in white...
Just one made!!!
So there are 2 white 4002 in existence .
