Rickenbacker 4003 Colours?

If you want the LIST price/MSRP the Rickenbacker price list is readily available on their website:

If you want a street price you will should check with some of the better RIC dealers; I, personally, prefer Pick Of The Ricks in Lindenwold, NJ. Chris and Shelby are the greatest, you most definitely will not be disappointed with them.

Nope, that is RED. Just plain old Red. The story I've heard is that the RIC folks were impressed by the looks of some of the color schemes on cars back in the mid-1980s, when "black chrome" trim was all the rage. I think many auto makers had red paint jobs with black trim, and RIC rode that wave for a while. RED came standard with black binding, pickguard, truss-rod cover, and black hardware. A few were done in "reverse trim" with the white binding and plastic and chrome-plated hardware. RUBY was a metallic red and was standard with white/chrome trim, but a few had the black trim.

Well, that makes sense. Mine's an '85, and it's always reminded me of a sports car with strings.

Well, there are a couple reasons as to why I haven't bought a 4003W yet; I haven't seen one in person, and two of the Rick walnut guitars I saw in Guitar Center had some of the absolute worst workmanship and touch-up where the neck met the body. I will let the pics speak for themselves; if I received a bass with anything on it that looked like a 4 year old drew on it with a poop-colored brown magic marker, I'd lose it...

No, not yet. I went to my local GC to check out the 4001S; while looking at some "issues" with that bass I saw the above two walnut guitars and was shocked at those neck joints...
