Rickenbacker and Precision Club

Hey guys, I'm not asking for a number, 'cause I cannot afford "the real deal" - I'd like to share my basses anyway :)
So here's my Ibanez Ric copy bass from 1977. I made a custom truss rod cover which says "Rückenbrecher", it's German and translates into something like back breaker.

And yesterday I finished my homemade P-Bass! It has no headstock decal at all...

Cool club, mapleglo! Great idea and I'm surprised it took so long for someone to start this club.
Actually, Mantis Toboggan raised the issue a few months ago.
He posted a thread describing the Ric/Precision topic when he added a 63 reissue Precision to his arsenal.
The guys I have been jamming and occasionally gigging (classic rock) with have said many times,
"Yeah, your Rics are cool and all that, but that Precision sound is what we prefer."
So here are my favorites of each make.

Thanks! There aren't too many clubs here that encompass more than one instrument or brand. Maybe not any clubs like that. So when we were talking about Precisions in the Ric club, I thought why not start a club? So here we are. It makes sense to me that people who like Rics would also like Precisions. They are both iconic instruments with a long and strong history, and they have similar neck profiles, wider at the nut with less of a taper than, say, a Jazz bass. And they both have their signature sound.

My first real bass was a Precision, and a few years later, a Ric. So I grew up on these two basses. And while I play a few different basses, if I could only choose two, they would be a Ric and a Precision.

Funny thing, I play some guitar also. Favorite guitars? A Strat and a Ric :D
