Hmm...
Well I own no Ric's however I have played with a few That and I've got several p's and this some kind of bass that is sort of a combination of Ric and p.

I love both of these basses and couldn't imagine not having either one. My next gig isn't until the end of May and I should probably play my Rick because it has been a while since I gigged it

They can't have made more than a handful of them as lefties.

There's some speculation that it's the only one. Desert Gold wasn't the most popular COY, and John Hall said they cut the production short because there were problems getting a consistant color. Last time I looked, there were about 3 dozen Ricks (of all models) listed on the Rick Register in Desert Gold, and mine was the only lefty anything. IIRC, Blue Burst was the most popular COY, and, according to John Hall, there are only 6 lefty 4003s in that color. So, who knows? In any case, I take very good care of it...

It sounds like a jazz, but with a little more woof on the low end.

As for the ultimate trio, I have 3 Precisions and 3 Jazzes, so I just need 2 more Rics for a trio of trios!
My other 2 Jazzes are a 1st year Geddy Lee, and an AVRI '75 Jazz, so I do have the dual Jazz pickup thing covered.

Interesting. I expected more precision tone. But the REAL complete set is a precision, a jazz, a ric and a stingray (or dimension).
