Rickenbacker imitation

I bought a Rickenbacker imitation bass. Just because I like the way it sounds. Now I was wondering who made it. Anyone here who has an idea?

Were not allowed to discuss COUNTERFEIT basses, but lookalikes are fine

"This rule does not extend to “lawsuit” basses or basses that have a similar look to others- only actual counterfeit items."

Actually, we're not allowed to discuss fakes or counterfeits any longer. There's a post Stickied but I'll attach the link here for you.
Threads Praising Counterfeit Basses Are No Longer Permitted

the rule makes sense. but does the OP's ax fall into that category? in spite of the obvious 'copying' i see no words/badge on the headstock --- if that's the case, and if the maker is not passing it off as a ric, is it a counterfeit? please clarify if you can...or maybe a mod will pick up on the issue here. thanks.

edit: never mind: vid1900 covered it!

Looks like a Chinese clone somebody pulled the binding off, maybe in order to veneer that top on. Notice the the routed ledge for the binding. Or it could have come that way as unfinished. You can have almost anything you want made by one of thousands of small factories using the same CNC files.

I will post some more pictures later on. Don't have it with me right now. I was also thinking it was a Chinese, but on the other hand, it has a double truss rod. For as far as I could find info, Chinese mostly have single truss rods.. correct me if I'm wrong

The Chinese models always use the same odd bridge. Post a couple closeups and it should be obvious. Double truss rods would be unusual on a Chinabacker, haven't seen one with two rods. The Chinese electronics are usually very low quality, but decent CTS pots and wiring are relatively cheap if you can solder. There isn't that much that can go wrong on the wiring. What's the issue?
