LOL... just remember, the first electric basses (and arguably the most copied and most played styles to this day) were made by a *guitar* maker, and that unless you are playing an upright bass, you are actually playing a "bass guitar"...
Damn, I think you should have done a translucent finish to show off the wood, but none of us can see it up close like you and more importantly you're not building it for any of us!

IMHO - since you are building this yourself, you should paint or stain it a color Ric doesn't usually use for cool factor.
I'm guessing Ric don't use Halfords automotive black spray can paint
The plans are not in a fit state now to ship or reproduce as i cut them up and spilt stuff on them, but I'll be happy to email you the scanned pic I scaled up to full size and used as the basic template. PM me your email address. I can add some of the vital dimensions for you if needed.

Well it was but I've just spent the last hour sanding all the black paint and lacquer off the top, I was unhappy about the finish and some areas had started crazing a few minutes after taking this pic. It is now a complete mess and I'll have to take it back to bare wood and start over.wow, it's really coming together now, isn't it?
