Since reading this thread, I'm thinking of of the Promethean with 1-10 and buying the 1-10 extension cab. That'll deliver 500 watts into a super light weight set up. I guess a really full sound to boot.

Ridiculously tiny lightweight combos...

The MB212. It's a simple 500 watt, plug in and play, pack up and go home combo amp. You get a full 500 watts with 2 12 inch speakers at 4 ohms so you don't need an extension cab to get the full power. It's perfect for a small/medium sized venue and you'll get heard. GK is known for volume and this amp is no exception, IME and IMO of course.
I've been lugging around a Markbass 2x10 cab for over a year now and love it. Lightweight and capable of handling any gig's volume requirements.
I'm a big fan of the MB 121p - great sound and light weight.

Wow. I ruled these out bc I thought they'd be too bulky/heavy. They're bigger but they're all lighter than my DB112. I'll add em to the OP.

What's your budget?
The lightest combo I know about is the MarkBass MicroMark at just under 10 pounds. 50 watts, 6" speaker and only a VPF for tone control. The GB 3.0-8T seems like a big step up putting out 175 watts to the 8" speaker and weighing 13 pounds.

using a separate head & cab is not quite as convenient as a combo, but if you pair this cab with a Markbass, GK, or Eden micro head you'll have a great sounding rig that's still very portable.
I say get the padded Mesa bag that goes with the Walkabout head (if yours didn't come with one) and sling it over your shoulder, carry a single 10" or 12" in one hand and your bass in the other.
^ Yeah I'd love to get a Mesa bag. They cost $135 here in oz and you have to wait "a couple of months" while the distributor ships it from the US. Mesa doesn't allow international sales. I'm not buying one on principle alone.

But you're right - a WA and DB112 isn't exactly going to break my back - that's why I decided to go ridiculously small - A new MB Microbass popped up for a killer deal and I thought I'd give it a try. I really wasn't expecting much but its really very impressive. You wouldn't want to use it for anything more than a practice rig but I've done my last 2 rehearsals with it and its done the job fine - playing with drums, acoustic guitar (amped) and vox through a PA.
** The important question is whether I think the light-weightness is worth the tone sacrifice. I'd have to say that as much as I'm enjoying this little guy - the slightly larger/heavier GB 3.0/8T would be my preference.

Good call with the micro, i have seen it paired with th NY406 and with the micro on its side it stacks on top perfectly for the craziest 6x6 ever!!
I'm gonna give the Markbass CMD121P some praise here.
It's my favorite of the ones you listed, and the one I wound up buying. It has great tone for such a small unit. I will say the piezo tweeter is very shiny, and this I love. Overall, it's a super quick sound.

I'd enter another vote for the GB 3.0-8T. It's really an amazing piece of gear. Hooked up to an extension cab and wow!
