Rigs of Doom; Part 4

Josh Pelican said:
I'm still running an Ampeg SVT-CL into the matching 810. I hope to get my SVT-VR fixed in the new year. If I do, I am very tempted to have it rebuilt by Emperor, than get a matching cab for it. Oh, how amazing it would be. That's doom by default.

In the new year, I would like to build some fEarful cabs to have lots of variety. If I don't, my goal for 2012 is to get a 610 and 215 (either Bergantino or LDS). It will happen. Oh, yes. It will happen.

I'm pulling for ya :)

I once owned an Ampeg V4B w/ straight back Ampeg V2 4x12 cab, an Acoustic 370 and 2- 301 Cabs, a 1x15" Thiel cab, 1x18 Thiel cab and an old Sunn something-or-other amp....all occupied one stage... sadly no pictures of entire rig. many moons ago!
**edit** - dont know if it sounded worth a darn, but it sure was cool, hehe.

Been wantin to get in on this for a while... Here ya go!
Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics.

Acoustic 406, Acoustic 260, 2x Acoustic 301, Ampeg SVP > Audio Centron Power Amp, Sunn Concert Slave, Acoustic 320, Acoustic 408, 2x Yamaha 4x12 (one's gettin new speakers), Yamaha 2x15, Trace Elliot 4x10, Ampeg SVT 2PRO, Ampeg V4 folded horn... Also have an Ampeg V4 Head and a couple Traynor PM300 Slaves.

I usually only gig with 2 cabs and 2 heads, but lately i've just been using the Acoustic 320/408 stack... 4x15's in one box kills!

Very cool!!! If you point it south and turn it up, I could probably hear you!!!

They look great like that, but have you tried running the speakers vertically?

I did have them side by side and I just stacked them like that a couple of days ago to see what it would be like.
The neck pickup has a bit more bass so I put that cab on the floor leaving the bridge pickup almost at ear level.
So far it sounds great.

I want to live in this room. Nicely done!

arent there some ground rules here? Such as, "if you can one hand it, not an amp of doom". If there arent there should be. As pointed out in another thread, quite a few rigs posted in these "Rigs of Doom" threads could fit in the back of a Civic with room for passengers.

Well, I can't one hand my rig, let alone my head. I'm just using an Ampeg SVT-CL into the 810. I wouldn't consider it a rig of doom compared to some of the other amps here! Maybe if I grab another 810 and get my VR working...
