ring modulators!

I'm really enjoying my Randy's Revenge, but the one thing I would like is expression pedal control over the mix. I'm pretty sure this could be programmed with the Radius, so I may have to try one out....

According to the manual, the default setting for the expression pedal is mix control, but it can be set to control a host of other parameters. Lack of Mix expression control is also one of my only complaints about the Ring Thing.

Play with it anymore?. Still discovering?I must say I was delighted when I found out the Aux button can be put in latch mode as I'm a pedalboard with hands fella.. Ambient Bass and Synth Soundscapes.. Can't wait to add the Radius for sci fi landscapes drenched in huge stereo delays and reverbs..

Not since last night, it’s currently 11:00am and I’ll be at work for the rest of the day. I justify spending time at work because it allows me to afford more pedals and basses :bassist:

He he.. good philosophy..When I get a new pedal(which will be Radius)I usually play around with it for 2 hours on the first day..

I brought the manual to work for some light reading until I’m able to get home

Apparently the editor isn’t even available yet, someone on TGP asked Red Panda when it will be released and is waiting for an answer. I imagine it’ll be released around the same time as the complete user manual.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the pedal is very quiet. No carrier signal bleed or any added noise, even when powering the pedal with a 1Spot daisy chain. Completely silent switching, too.

Oh ok .but the editor doesn't surprise me as we are still waiting on the update for the Raster 2 that the Particle got ages ago!!.
I think Red Panda need to hire more staff to keep up with demand..It's becoming a very popular(if not already) Pedal company..

They’ve certainly got a new fan in me. I won’t hesitate to say that the Radius is the new industry standard ring mod.
Awesome..Too many people sleep on Red Panda pedals.. they do so much..I LOVE my Raster 2..I think it's the most versatile and best digital delay pedal..
The stereo options on it are mind blowing..
Chase Bliss, Meris and Red Panda are the leaders of boutique pedal mastery in my opinion

Dude forget about that pedal..The Radius is the ring mod king now.. get the best...
Yeah, but I already have a ModFactor and (under)use it as a high quality dual flanger, occasionally a chorus, & intend to use the voltage-controlled filter part. I haven't used a RM before, so just wondering what it doesn't have that the much newer Radius does have.

Round 2 went well, I started using the envelope trigger feature of the modulation shapes, while still coming back to the LFO at times. And maybe I’m old fashioned, but turning the modulation Amount knob all the way down and enjoying the stationary ring mod tones is just as fun.

The main discovery this time was the sweet spot of the Mix knob at 10:00. I assumed noon was 50/50 but that’s definitely not the case, and 10:00 is still surprisingly wet while keeping all of my low end and punch. I went back and redid my previously saved presets like that and they sound even better.

Admittedly I haven’t messed with the step sequencer and don’t really plan to as it’s not something I find useful on any pedal, so hopefully none of you were waiting for my take on it.

Great stuff.... Have you used the 2 X modulation options yet?..These sounded the most interesting and awesome LFO options to me in the demos...The step sequencer sounded like a choppy LFO waveform to me where you can dial in the parameters beforehand which is a nice feature to me!!

Oh that's cool .but I was talking about the X+ and X- waveforms on the LFO..sounds like barber pole phaser effects

I tried those a lot, especially tonight when experimenting with the envelope trigger mode, I was able to get an array of quacky funk filter sounds with a varied flavoring of ring mod dissonance. The X modes are great in standard LFO mode too, I especially liked a somewhat slower Rate setting that almost wants to make you play a bit slower to hear the oscillator rising/falling.

Still scratching the surface of the pedal, I found a deep phaser/vibe setting that pulses in a regular repeating pattern that sounds like the LFO randomly changing speeds to someone not knowing what to expect. I just checked and it happens to be in the X- mode

Holy cow..give me a Radius quick..this is torture..I'm in work now but I'd rather have a Radius in my arsenal and be marvelling in it like you are now,did you try delays or reverbs after or before it?.. That will open up tons of possibilities..I can't wait to pair it with my Mood 2,Raster 2 in glorious stereo
