I stumbled across a personal email correspondance from a former bandmate that was three or four years old, but it reminded me that another former bandmate who had passed away that year was a member of TalkBass. I'd completely forgotten that Keith Hedger -- aka @bigtiny -- also played bass, as he played cornet in every ensemble where I worked with him.
But Keith was quite the character, an amusing mix of sardonic snark and genuine laugh-out-loud craziness...who could sightread the phonebook and still put his personal spin on whatever came out of the horn. I never actually heard him play bass, but in hindsight I now understand his deep interest in whatever I was doing on bass in the bands we played in.
Searching the TB archives now I see that he was a regular contributor for several years...I see that he even replied to a few of my questions!
So a very belated and overdue RIP to bigtiny
