He was awesome. Anyone who hasn't checked out the early Screaming Trees stuff on SST probably should.
Co-sign. The SST Anthology album is great. As is Uncle Anesthesia, though that's on Epic.
His early 2000s album "Bubblegum" is one of my all time favorites. What a voice.
Absolutely. I'm going to listen to some Twilight Singers and Gutter Twins tunes today, for sure.
This really sucks. Been a huge fan of his since the Trees. Loved his solo work, stuff with QOTSA, Isobell Campbell, the Gutter Twins (Saturnalia is one of the best rock records of the 00's IMO). Hell I have a Mark Lanegan playlist on my phone.
His autobiography is pretty tough read. The man had his demons for sure. But jeez, 57??!! Way too young for such a massive talent. RIP brother. Thanks for your voice

Oh, man! Sorry to hear this. Such a unique voice. I highly recommend checking out his solo, cover songs album, Imitations. R.I.P.

His albums with Isobel Campbell, while retaining a twisted Lee Hazelwood/Nancy Sinatra vibe, were still one of a kind.
I was introduced to his voice through Mad Season, but didnt know about his other work until much later. RIP, Mark.
Loved screaming trees. What a terrible loss. Rest in peace Mark Lanegan.
