Ya gotta grab what's handy.Red Stripe? Oh no, martini...shaken, not stirred.
Best Bond by a hair over Daniel Craig. You always believed that Connery could knock someone out with one punch, which was much less believable with Brosnan and some of the others.
2020
The James Bond character really changed with the Daniel Craig movies... less suave, charming and humorous... more fierce, brutal and intense.
Sean Connery was always top of the heap in the older style Bond... some of those flicks were so enjoyable... must've been a thrill to have seen those in the theater... so new and exciting.
I've always loved the Roger Moore movies as I felt like the stories were the best of the franchise.
All that being said, if I had to pick a single Bond movie, I'd go with Skyfall. It might be the Roger Deakins cinematography that pushes it over the edge... so stylish... just a cool movie... for me, it's the most "complete" of the franchise... covers all the bases.
I think the way Craig does Bond is closer to what Flemming had in mind in the books, but when it was translated to the screen with all the razzle dazzle, Connery brought a personality and flair to the role that it needed in that context. If the producers had chosen an actor with Craig’s demeanor back then, it just wouldn’t have worked. Craig did redeemed the franchise back from the cartoonishness it had become with Moore and Brosnan.Best Bond by a hair over Daniel Craig.
