RIP Tim Feerick (Dance Gavin Dance bassist)

Sorry if this was posted already, but I didn't find anything with a search.

A band I really like just lost one of their members. The bassist of Dance Gavin Dance, Tim, passed away. It's on the Twitter account.

Here's Tim doing a playthrough of one of my favorite DGD songs (especially for the bass work). You can see his cat having a fun time in the background.



So young. Only 34! Breaks my heart. Well, I hope he's creating monster music in the afterlife with Taylor Hawkins and Alexi Laiho.

Wow, I'm surprised I'm the only one on a bass forum acknowledging Tim Feerick's recent passing. It's not like he was a nobody. Dance Gavin Dance is one of the more prominent bands in the alt-rock genre, have been in the game for almost two decades, and were working on new music before Tim's untimely passing. He was a really good bassist too.

RIP Tim Feerick.

This one has hit me pretty hard. DGD has been one my favorite bands for years. As I've progressed into playing bass, his stuff has jumped out at me a lot more. I'm like you, Head Hunter is probably my favorite track. Seemed like a legitimately cool guy. I'm really devastated for the band with what a rough go they've had the past few years.
