These are really good basses and not many people know about them, so I am starting the Ristola Club post your pictures I will assign numbers.

Brian Ristola is in New Hampshire, USA, a relatively obscure luthier who makes great basses.

This one sees alot of action:

It's a 4 string lined fretless with Goncalo Alves top, Spanish cedar body, Ebony board, Nordstrand dual coils, Aguilar pre.

I recall reading here somewhere that Brian Ristola worked under Chris Stambaugh for a while, and then set out on his own.

I remember that bass!

Brian's a good friend of mine. I have one of his six strings. It's the flame maple topped one on his site. Great bass. It currently has Nordstrand dual coils in it with an Audere preamp. I'm having Delano's put in it soon to try.

He's the owner...the only associate is his wife....both the best people you could find.


Oh, and Nicky...that was the mahogany bodied bass that I was talking about. It's the best bass of his that I've played. It's pretty astounding.

edit: and look at those knobs!!!

Yeah, Andy, I was keeping an eye on the LAG site since you told me he was getting a few.

I did notice the knobs. I also dig the new contouring on the headstock. It has more depth.
