Just ordered mine. Going to an ampless setup with my passive DJ5, 18V 6 string, and electric upright. I needed a solid DI that could handle the instrument changes easily, and this seems to be it. I can even eliminate my X-Blender. Very excited.

Well, you are correct Sir. This thing is legit. I did some solo noodling in my office with it today and the EQ is fantastic. The midrange control options really brings out the best in the passive DJ-5. I am running my entire board through it tomorrow for church. Because of the size of the space and use of IEMs, I will not bring my amp. I found a really great tone in about 90 seconds with the Basswitch. It really doesn't have any "color" but rather, it lets your bass really shine. It brings out all of the interesting components of the wood, strings, pickups, and my fingers. I'll post again after the services tomorrow.

So I have been using mine for a few weeks and it sure is great, however, I think I could be getting even MORE out of her. If I was a little more knowledgeable in the giant scope of EQing the possibilities are endless (obviously with all of these features).

Anybody feel like sharing a setting or two?? I play fingerstyle and primarily funk with a large helping of grit, filter, duby goodness. So I guess a nice thick clear tone and something with a little more punchy, but retaining my balls....


Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm interested in this also...I've been messing around with mine for a few months and I've changed basses and cabs a few times, so some of my settings have had to change. I'd like to know what some other users are doing? What basses do you guys play and through what cabs? What kind of music? Thanks much!

I'm returning my Basswitch to Sweetwater. I can't get it to stop humming. I tried 3 top tier power supplies and there was no change. The only way to dump the hum is to bypass the preamp section. I was able to dial it down a little by use of the pad, but it should not hum. My board is silent without it. I am very disappointed.

Don't give up on it, bro! Exchange it for another one. The only noise I get out of mine is when I try to make EQ changes when I'm playing and then the dials are "scratchy". I asked if that was an issue and Jacques said it was normal. Mine is dead silent also...

I also run mine at 18v.

Not easy as it depends completely on your style of music and your bass.

Let me open the game by a nice smooth vintage setting for a passive P-bass (the numbers are to be seen as on a clock):

V+1; B +1; LML +1; LMF +1; HML 11; HMF 11; T 11

Their are also some settings to be seen/heard on the site (Link Removed) and on the facebook basswitch page.
