I still think the bird's eye looks awesome. Obviously, people are expecting flamed maple, so BE would be more unique and original.

I had the same thought at first, but now I think that might be overdoing it a little.

Given the choice between those pieces of wood I'd go with the Birdseye since it has more "personality"

I always feel like birdseye is some kind of gimmick. Somewhat like spalted. Flamed maple just looks beautiful to me, so it escapes the gimmick judgement.
