Rob Trujilo - His playing style?

My internet is krapeing in and out, so I'm not completely sure if this one's been posted, but this is a Trujillo intro to FWTBT from a French concert. Still not his best I assume, but it's much more than I thought he would be allowed to do in Metallica.

Trujillo its one of my favorite bassist ,specially on old Infectious grooves and the time he had on suicidal.
i like him as a bass player,but he amazed me on Infectious.

very doubtful that trujillo will ever get to rock out in metallica. as mentioned earlier, metallica is lars and james. heck, i'm sure even kirk has to get "permission" to play what he wants on the albums.

besides, can anyone ever hear the bass in metallica anymore? might as well be bob rock on bass. again.

the last bass player that featured him said that he's using sansamp when they asked his tech i belive.

What amazes me is how he can play well and fast with his bass down around his shins! Even if I could pull that off, I think I would get really unfomortable really quickly.

hey USED to...... in the bass mag with him on the cover when he first joined up with metallica nad jason joined up with ozzy... his tech said he was using a sansamp now... he is/was endorsed by the mxr m80...


when he was with ozzy.. you could tell when he used the m80... check out..


theres NO WAY you can get a m80 to sound like that.. but you can with the sansamp...


whether he STILL used the sansamp for that metallica clip... i dont know forsure... but last i read and i can re-type it word for word was that he's using the sansamp with metallica... and from the orion clip... theres not way that he's using the m80 for distortion..

The thing was they supported Alice In Chains and the drummer for Suicidals filled the drum chair for Alice that night in Newcastle Australia many years ago. The Alice drummer was apparently too ****ed up.

It is still the most euphoric gig I have ever been to.
Suicidals were so tight, the rhythm guitar was just so on.

Rocky George just wailed and Trujillo did his job without being an arse.

It was a double bill made in heaven. We then got Staley in all of his pain singing down a storm in the single most best vocal performance I have ever witnessed. He was on. The band was on. Who knows they had a different drummer but is was captivating, amazing and visceral.

If there ever was a gig that I could get a replay of this would be it.
