The man is a beast. this may be somewhat of a pointless thread, but i just had to call out his name and show him some love! i highly suggest you go to youtube.com and type in orion live robert trujillo. Then sit back and wipe any drool you haven't dropped already off when he does the solo towards the end. you WILL notice when it comes out!

any videos of him playing by himself or stuff like that that you have post em here!

I saw him do Orion live on the 11th of June in the RDS Dublin. Awsome! I just need to get the second disc of the recording of that concert and I'm set. Best concert I was ever at. Metallica have got ''it'' back and are back on form.

Rob sounds and plays amazing live. I saw him do the Orion solo's and a two minute bass solo before the drums kicked in to signal the start of the song. Incredible. Mind-blowing overdrive.
I love his style, stage presence, tone, feel... I just love him!

I also got a picture on my phone where you can see the white of his bass as he stands on a platform doing his own solo just before Orion. You can't see him but you can see the bass. Enough for me! My phone is very old a crappy though. I could see him very clearly when I was there.

Yeah, Trujillo is a beast. The funniest part of "Metallica - Some Kind of Monster" is when they are trying out different bass player and Trujillo just comes in a literally pulverize the rest. You can see the amazement in Lars, Kirk and James' faces.......:bassist:

what songs by Infectious Grooves should I listen to , to hear Trujillo's grooves. Also on some kinda monster , the bass try out was my favorite part. Didnt seem like the players there were really that amazing. Although there was a lefty that had blue lights on the fret dots , I though that was cool . I wonder if the bass try out part can be seen on youtube? Anybody knwo the names of the players who tried out?

Jeordie/Twiggy from Manson/APC/NIN tried out, Pepper Keenan from Corrosion of Conformity tried out, Scott Reeder of Kyuss tried out, Trujillo, I think the dude from Jane's Addiction tried out too...that's all I really remember.

i saw a video acouple weeks ago of him soloing on a 5 string....was very good

robl owns on bass

and i have a question about orion...and sry that its soo stupid but

how do u pernounce "orion" correctly?? i've pernounced it as "or-E-en" (capital E= just say the letter E)

or is it "O-Ryan" ....like the constelation (sp?)
