    Goodmornig,
i need to listen some rock band with a good saxophone, somethings like Morphine or some Gallon Drunk. I like Terry Edwards very much.
We would like to add a sax in our band and we need some rock bands for inspiring us.
    Any help?
    Thanks.
    Franco.

For me, this is the alpha and omega of sax in rock:

No more need be said. :D

The only names you need to know would be King Curtis and Bobby Keys; everything else is secondary.

Really? Even these guys were far more soulful(and sax friendly) than those vanilla johnny come latelys...

Two of them are still playing, saw them last summer, part of the "Happy Together" tour. Most excellent.

    Hard to top this...

    Except for this...

I found these guys far more interesting than Chicago or BS&T(even though Bill did eventually join Chicago)...

All of these posts and no King Crimson?!

Check out "Starless" - awesome sax solo in a very weird time sig.

Also: David Bowie started out playing sax as a lad, and used it now and again in his career. Black Tie White Noise in particular has some nice sax work on a few tracks, and the instrument even gets pride of place in the back cover art:

For something somewhat modern: The Zutons

Also, I think there's a Two Feet song or two with sax.
