Again, the latency(or lag) is an easy fix. On my PS3, I have the video gong from the PS3 thru an HDMI cble to theb TV, and the audio from the PS3 thru the A/V component cable direct to my stereo, Sound settings on the PS3 are set to Audio Multi-Output on, the TV audio is turned off. I get NO lag/latency.

Some songs can be maxed out really fast, but others are very, very difficult (YYZ comes to mind). I think people are asking way too much from something that was designed to just be a fun, easy way to jam out. It's not like they hand out advanced degrees in music theory when you figure out a song. This ain't Berkeley...it's a game. Just another tool in the shed is how I see it.

Exactly, it's a fun tool that you can use to actually learn how to play the guitar and bass parts for some songs, it's not meant to teach you music, but it can certainly help augment the learning process by teaching you fingering and technique and the physical side of playing guitar/bass.

Just a heads up for you Rocksmith fans ... Later this month (May 28th, supposedly) Realta software will be releasing a game similar to Rocksmith called Bandfuse. Same basic idea. where you use a real guitar to actually learn songs. The press for it says you can "jam" with up to 3 others, bass, two guitars, and vocals, but I'm not sure if it actually teaches you the bass parts as it does for the guitar. I will definitely be looking into it though, and if it compares favorably with RS, I'll likely be getting it.

I've had Rocksmith for a while & got my first bass when they came out with the 2014 version of the game.

Ace of Spades is my warmup song.

I have Rocksmith for PC that I just can't seem to get to work, I also have it for PS3, and it works like a charm.

Ubisoft's support for Rocksmith is pretty pathetic, I get a specific diagnostic trouble code when I try to lauch Rocksmith, and they are claiming it is a Microsoft problem, meanwhile Microsoft says it is a problem with the game. Considering I have no problems with any other applications on my PC, I think Microsoft might just be right... I guess I will put it on my Windows 7 desktop instead of my Windows 10 laptop...

Waiting on an answer now. Cleaning up the load on my Win 7 Desktop PC to see if it will work there, but would REALLY rather it worked on my Windows 10 laptop...

Been working my way through several songs so far. I think I am ready to play strip clubs. I have Pour Some Sugar On Me at 100%...

Even not looking at the screen, it is nice to have the jam session capability, just to have a band behind you. Although I wish I could push the bass a bit in the mix, but then again, I am biased!

As noted above with the PS3, I also have it hooked up with hdmi direct to tv, then the audio through a component cable to the home theater. Works good, but a pain to crawl under to switch the cables when I want to watch a dvd.

Edit: Having just typed that, I suppose I could just watch dvd's that way... Never tried it!
