I just got it yesterday and played around for a bit. Pretty awesome game, once I figured out how to turn the onscreen tablature the right side up (upside down?). Now that it's been out for a while, is anyone still playing? Any interesting features or tips that people have discovered?
I haven't played or thought about this game in years but the upside down I'm talking about is the way tabs appear everywhere. The game reverses that by default. So when I said upside down I meant I set it the way tabs appear everywhere else.I wouldn't recommend learning tab "right side up," as you see it, since that's not how you'll ever see it written online or otherwise. Just stick it out and learn it normally, which seems upside down to beginners. Your brain can make the connection in a few days, after a while you won't even notice it being weird anymore.
The reason tab looks upside down is so it follows the contour of traditional notes more closely. Think of it this way, your bass is actually the thing that's upside down, because the lowest *sounding* string is physically above the highest sounding string. In traditional notation Low notes are written lower on the staff than high notes are, so similarly, your lowest sounding bass string (or any guitar type instrument) is represented lower on the TAB staff.
Do yourself a favor and learn TAB right from the beginning, it's already WAY easier than note reading, and there are literally tens of thousands of free tabs available to to learn in the future, as well as in magazines, music books, etc.
I have found that you can find a lot of the custom dlc and regular dlc posted as Youtube videos.
