Roland Cube Street EX

I need something battery powered for playing in the park, on the street, etc. Other than myself, the ensemble is acoustic and has a drummer. Looking at old TB threads I see praise for the Roland Cube Street EX; does anybody here have extensive experience with it? And, are there any other options that might suffice? Thanks!

While the Cube Street EX is pretty much the smallest amp I recommend for busking it is still very limited regarding SPL. If you have a battery powered HPF I think it will help quite a bit. This will allow you to have higher SPL and the low end will be less likely to fart out.

Check @Adam Harzuf 's comments in this thread Portable battery powered combo

@Aaron Houts owns both a Bass Cube RX and the Cube Street EX. Here is a review of the Cube Street EX and comparison between the two amps: NAD: Roland Cube Street EX-upgraded my Micro Cube Bass RX

@brianrost has also made some good comments. Here are a few where he talks about using an HPF and limiter to increase the average volume capabilities...also an Amp SIM so it sounds less like a PA speaker:

I believe the Roland BA-330 is a bit louder and fuller than the Cube Street EX, but its also about twice the size and weight. FYI, the BA-330 actually makes less power than the Cube Street EX but has more speaker area.

Check out this video where two BA-330s are stacked. I think this would actually work really well with a drummer in the park. Not so great if you are walking around to different locations; then the Cube Street EX at 19lbs would probably be a better compromise.
