I just that realized he has recored a few duet albums. At least two with Houston Person, one with Joe Henderson, maybe there are others?
Man autocorrect really shaged me on this one. "dedicated to Jim Hall..." and "MITHRA". Jeez...Dude, 2 recordings with Jim Hall, 1 with Helen Merrill (although there is some percussion), at least 1 with Cedar Walton, a trio record dedicated to Jumpier Hall with Larry Coryell and Peter Bernstein, and Mithar knows HOW many trio records...
There's a Henderson/Carter duo record??
Oh yes. Joe Henderson “State of the Tenor” volume 1 and 2 (I highly envy you if you’ve never heard them).
There's a Henderson/Carter duo record??
I find it hard to believe this could exist and I wouldn't have heard of it, but if it does I'm in good company - the internet doesn't seem to have heard of it either
@oliebrice Riiiiight you are, good sir! The sleep deprivation I’m experiencing from having a 2 week old and a 3 year old must be throwing me for a major loop.
On a side note, I remember eons ago seeing Ron play duo with Bill Frisell at The Blue Note. An incredible show except that I was left with a sour taste because this incredible duo *opened* the split bill, and were followed by a certain well renowned bass player/bandleader’s “international vamp band”.
I sat down with two amazing choruses and analyzed them, bar-by-bar. There's just no one that walks better lines than him, IMHO.
