As for the V, me and a few other TBers discussed it, and if you could get the pickups, or good JJ humbuckers, it would be pretty straightforward to make a Warmoth J-5, with a custom guard, and wired as the RB.
 
The B string doesn't need it, and in fact, I think it would be harmful putting one there since it would be too close to the nut. You're looking for the right break angle across the nut, not too much and not too little. The problem statement on the RBV is that the E string break angle is too low because of the placement of the tuner. If anything this placement is slightly aggressive on the E and A, but this is what would fit on the headstock. I press down on the strings past the nut to help them make the bend.

The parts are hipshots, pretty sure I got them from stew-mac.
