Oooooo, I want in on this.
I’m fortunate to have added a Classic 5 and a Classic Custom 5 to the Roscoe arsenal over the last year.
First was the Sienna burst Custom with Jazz body in a PJ config. Then a few months later I got a killer Black burst Classic in a Jazz body with a J/MM pickup set.
Both have the active/passive option. Both are right at 8 pounds and both play exquisitely.

I have a fretted and fretless SKB5 and love the necks.... the low B on each are the best that I’ve ever played. How does the Classic neck compare? How does the low B on the Classics compare?

I have a fretted and fretless LG 3005 as well as an SKB 3006. The body and string spacing is so different between the LG and the Classic (LGs are so sleek) and the neck radius is a lot flatter on the Contemporary styles than on the Classic so there is a definite difference in “feel” but the actual pluck and touch of the Classic B strings is pure Roscoe. The PLEK they set up all the new necks with ensures that crisp B action.

I have a classic 4 ant it is pretty much like the necks of any fine fender style bass like Sadowsky or Lakland us . I’ve heard the classic 5’s are flatter than say the SKB or LG or Century necks.

Added a new one a week or two ago:
Classic modern. Jazz body, back load so no pickguard, droptop with Buckeye and stained purple. I asked for the OSB 3 Aguilar and Super Doubles to get a more modern sound. Laid out the controls in a P Bass curve instead of the J config and finally got this awesome Pale Moon Ebony fretboard. It came out as well as I could have imagined.

Last I checked, no. I’ve tried bugging keith about making a 34” scale 5 with 18mm spacing. He said 34” scale 5 will probably happen eventually but the 18mm should spacing was probably a no go. I would suggest letting him know your interest and see what he says.

They have never had great success with pulling up the actual dates by serial; more like a range. That said, i had a custom build done in late 2000 that delivered in early 2001 and mine is serial 4578.

5 string 34” scale? I asked in late October and he hadn’t made one yet.
