Roscoe Closeout Sale

I don’t know what’s going on with Roscoe, but I do know the basses are the finest I have played, and I have been treated like I’m really “somebody” when I’ve dealt with the shop and my builds. It’s been maybe 5 years since I’ve had one built. I know things have changed and I hope for the best. My days of buying and selling and trying are pretty much over. I have a pretty good idea of what I like and I just can’t afford to do it any more.

I have met some really great people, like Greg, during all my buying and selling as well. I’d love to grab another Roscoe, maybe a fretless again, but it’ll probably be a used one.

My curiosity about Roscoe is how I found Rocket Music about 10 years ago. It didn't take long for me to decide if I was going to buy a Roscoe it would be from Greg. I had two beautiful Century Signatures built, one 2010 and the other in 2014. I have no plans to ever get rid of either.

Plus I met a great bunch of great guys on the Roscoe and Rocket Music forums, and upgraded about all my other gear through Rocket. It has been a blast for me, thanks for allowing me into this part of the music world. I hope everything works out for Keith and hope Rocket Music keeps going strong in this ever changing market.

Having recently learned that Roscoe has been taking orders directly since January, I've been doing a lot of thinking about whether I want to continue being a Roscoe dealer. With a heavy heart, I'm afraid I have reached the conclusion that I do NOT want to continue as a dealer.

Jesus. Who would?

I understand the MI business is like a drowning guy slowly going under. Totally get that, spent far too much of my life working in it to not get that. But this is a poor decision on the manufacturer's part. Yeah, dealers get a cut of the cash, but they also insulate you from all the customer BS and most of them have no idea of just how difficult that is and how much of that there is. (I've worked both sides, manufacturer and retailer.) Their decision is regrettable.

Yours was inevitable. All their dealers will eventually follow, sadly. You can't compete with direct sales and you simply end up becoming a demo warehouse for people who will try them at your store and buy them from the factory. You have better things to do.

Do it!!!

I wish he'd have bought that Century Custom... dang GAS!!!

Edit: For the record, bass is 8.7lbs...

That is a beautiful bass, but it's way out of my price range and I already have a nice Roscoe Century 5...

However...I am tempted by the Roscoe "Pino" P bass.

It's been modded a bit from the original I believe...a different neck, Ultralight tuners, a honey badger pickup...all nice touches. And I love the input jack on the side! Everyone says I should have a P bass, but I'm kind of a Roscoe snob. I just love the neck on my Century so much. I've played a few P basses from others but they just don't click with me. I have yet to try a Roscoe "classic" so maybe....

I’m aware of your obsessing over the p-bass... you’ve been posting about it for quite awhile ;)

I meant I wish armybass would have bought the Century Custom...
