Dang!
You got another one!
You are my new hero!![]()

I always felt the only Motor Trend's "Car of the Year" should be the car that survives a full year in the possession of my father. He could break an anvil. I never understood what criteria has to be met for any such title on any product. The ratings are probably like Motor Trend’s “Car of the Year”. It’s a reflection of who bought the most ad space or in this case who gave the best endorsement deal. Ratings are pretty subjective.
I gave up the mag about 20 years ago.

I gave up 15-20 years ago after about the 35th issue with Flea on the cover.
So many issues making this and at the end, I'm almost embarrassed to post it 'cause there's so much better stuff out there.
But it's a Roscoe in action, so here ya go. Pls be kind, and HNY 2022 !
They had a Lakland bass in best of class that's not even made anymore (J Sonic) and most categories filled with same old same old even though way more is out there. It seemed like a cut n paste job. The featured artists seem to be the same recycled "Rock" guys like Geezer Butler. I like Geezer but it's like turning on the radio or XM and the song you've heard a million times come on. Play something new, there are some great new artists out there. I feel prior to the purchase the American BP did a pretty good job of giving us "not necessarily what we were familiar with" in a good way. It opened doors to styles and music I wasn't familiar with. British BP seems content running the same old "rockers" out there (nothing wrong with heavy music) it's just nothing new/challenging or intriguing. The reviews seem to be a Music Man Stingray (whatever current or new version) or the same Fender J bass (whatever incarnation) Nothing new or interesting. I end up putting it down and I never make it to the end. Some cool monthly articles like Rob Elricks input on wood types or bass maintenance is always fresh and good read but that's all I look forward to anymore. I think I will let mine expire. If they gave me new content or challenged me with something other than John Enwistle riffs then I'd stay.Off topic post ....
Any other Roscoeheads naive enough to still maintain a subscription to Bass Player magazine?
I've maintained a subscription to BP since it's origin but I think that I've finally had enough.
I won't get into everything that bothers me about their articles and reviews but I will say that their latest magazine and ratings of "Gear of the Year" is an absolute joke!
Best bass over $3000: Sadowsky Verdine White model!?!
You've got to be kidding me!
Practically every category is a joke. Yeah, I know it's all fiction but .........
OK I feel better!
I'm going to go play my Roscoe!
I ordered mine second week of last January received mine in July. 6 months plus I think is the wait. It was worth it though.Been wanting a Roscoe bass for a while. Does anyone know how long the build time is on instruments with them?
