Roscoe Club

Spent yesterday morning with the master picking up my new Century and refurbished LG. The shop is humming even on a rainy Saturday morning. They have tons of instruments in the pipeline and have orders constantly coming in. It’s amazing what they get done given that it’s mostly Keith and Kyle. Well here are my two new babies. The Century plays like a dream of course and the LG is slamming. I got it with Nordstrand electronics that I don’t think we’re installed correctly so I had Keith put it back stock with Barts. Love it.

Awesome Scott! How’s the mwah on that 6 string fretless?
Great looking basses and just in time for Christmas!

If I were to get another bass I think it would be this one...it would go nicely with my "Pino" Classic P. Geddy and Pino.

There are guys out there that claim that they can’t hear a difference.
I’m not one of them. I prefer the 70’s spacing (4.00” center to center).

Yeah, there's a huge difference. I've never played a Fender Jazz with regular bridge pickup spacing that I liked the sound of, whereas with the 70's pickup position it's like "Oh, that sounds good." But that's just from me listening to Geddy and not being able to get that sound out of a regular Jazz.

Totally inspired by Gard's love for Zon basses prior to coming to Roscoe.
While acknowledging the influence, in the Roscoe story/timeline, KR, GL, and JB are the main players in implementation and continuation. And, one can order and reliably expect to receive a Roscoe bass with JB pickup locations.

Moral of the story: Order a Roscoe to your spec. Choose your woods, finish, neck scale, fretted/fretless, headstock/headless, hardware type and finish, pickup type, brand, and spacing, preamp type or none. Receive it with reasonable pricing and relatively timely delivery, even in pandemic.

All of this from KR, the man whose name is on the headstock, and who still answers the shop phone.

Having been there in the conversation, I can tell you with complete confidence, it was JB's idea.
