Roscoe Club

Honestly, I’ve been a church bass player playing Gospel and CCM songs for 30 years and never had the need for a high C string, but definitely the low B. Lots of Eb, Db, Ab & Gb key songs where the bottom needs to rule.

We have one acoustic guitar, bass, drums and three singers. I sometimes play some fills and the C string is helpful. I wish we had a pianist and an electric guitar but we don’t.

Be careful what you wish for - that more 'sparse' lineup means you can stretch out and take up the correct amount of room for the situation. A full band might mean you only be able to play the most basic low-end role. Each is fun in it's own way, I guess.

There is that. It is nice to have space and I am free to play what comes to mind.

I was previously a member of one of the huge churches and left because the worship time was becoming a show that was way too loud. It is worship time…not show time.[/QUOTE]

I’m super blessed to have several really nice players but this recent acquisition has earned its place at the top of the list and is my main gigging bass. Such a great feel and tone. Once I started using it on gigs I felt no desire to reach for another bass when leaving for the gig. This one’s just right.

So does that mean that all the others are for sale?:D

This thread has really been a punishment for me as of late. I’ve been mostly living in Europe the past 2 years and have my Roscoe LG3005 residing in the US only because it has a Brazilian RW fretboard. I miss it greatly. Obviously, the only remedy is to order another Roscoe but funds aren’t readily available at this time. :crying:

There is one other possibility you may not have considered. You could offer to trade your bass for another Roscoe that has woods that are acceptable for shipping to Europe.
