Right! More like calculus.I hate math.![]()
No math needed Steve. See the top 2 bridge saddles in the diagram? Simply measure each string spacing area center to center. just as the arrows show.I hate math.![]()
String spacing is measured string center to center, for the nut or bridge. String spacings at the bridge range from 14mm (Ibanez GVB36 Gerald Veasley model) to 20mm.I do believe that I am in the market for a 6 string Roscoe. The big issue that I've had is that every 6 string bass I've played has felt like the neck is wider than an aircraft carrier deck. I'm never been one for knowing string spacing specs, I've always been a "that feels right" kind of guy.
So a super dumb question. My fretless feels a little tighter than my fretted. How does one measure string spacing exactly and what is "narrower than an aircraft carrier" for a 6 string bass?
Although it's still summer, things are pretty chill here in the Roscoe club. Along those lines, here's a cool thread of Roscoe "action shots" from the @RocketMusic forum / old Roscoe forum to liven things up. Recognize anyone? Roscoe action shots
Modulus used to make a 21mm spaced 5er (their 6 string neck strung for 5 strings), if you want to get really particular (and I know you doString spacing is measured string center to center, for the nut or bridge. Don’t get @staccatogrowl started on parts on ebay again! It's only $160 for a bridge I guess.
Steve, Hipshot customer service is excellent. Give them a call and they might send you what you need at no charge.. . a couple LG bridge screws don't seem to want to move much any more.
Well, I think the next thing I'm going to do is swap the preamp on my LG. I'm going to take the Bart 3 band out and use it in a friends Nathan East. That preamp took a crap on him. I'm going to put the original Aguilar preamp back in the LG. Then I'll se about anything more.
I'm trying to get a couple 5 strings ready so when I send my Century 5 to get the gloss finish, I'll have a 5 string or two around. My friend doesn't play anymore and gave me his Yamaha Nathan East and TRB5 to use on indefinite loan.
I still have no "practical" use for the LG. I'd still like to sell it, but there is less than ZERO interest. The intonation is ok for now, but I do have a couple bridge screws that don't seem to want to move much any more. It's only $160 for a bridge I guess.
I could try that I guess. I’m not sure if it’s the screws or the saddles or what.Steve, Hipshot customer service is excellent. Give them a call and they might send you what you need at no charge.
Don't even hesitate at that priceAnyone hazard a guess on the year of this? Looks mid 2000s to me.
ROSCOE LG3006 Quilt Maple Top / Mahogany Back - Emerald Green | Reverb
I still have GAS to try an LG3006 and that price is quite good. And the specs are bang on. Free shipping from Japan worries me though.
I could try that I guess. I’m not sure if it’s the screws or the saddles or what.
Why are all the Roscoes on Ebay from Japan seemingly?
