Roscoe Club

A bit jarring,
But less in-your-face looking, in person.
The tort is a nice blend.

For the neck, I decided to take a chance on that new "all wenge" option, where the only maple is the tiny accent stringers. The fretboard will be ebony. All Aguilar for the electronics. I think that overs the options.

Sounds like that’s going to be an amazingly stunning bass, @edbutler3! Now curious to know how it sounds.

That one is mine. I'll be sure to share pics when I get it. Hoping to see an update with the neck attached in the near future. About a year in at this point.

Ed, you can thank yours truly for "that new all Wenge option". I custom ordered that neck for my LG Custom 5 (three years ago this month) and Keith made a small batch of those. I decided to go all-the-way and also specified a Wenge fretboard. Thank goodness it turned out great. I absolutely love the results. And with the PLEK, this neck is crazy good. Imagine a neck on steroids. LOL!

Every bass I have owned that had Wenge in the neck or fingerboard had something extra in the tone. My Century 5 has a Wenge fingerboard and the tone is fantastic.

I've had the same results, Chuck. I previously owned a Roscoe with a wenge fretboard, and an Elric with an all wenge neck and fretboard, and was impressed with the tone in both cases. That's why I went all-in with my LG.

Your bass appears to be 90% cacao dark chocolate. Delicious! :D

I remember seeing that bass @Freddy-G. :woot:. Another gorgeous piece from the Roscoe eye candy factory, for sure!

I used to own a MTD 535 with a replacement Wenge neck and fretboard. I can’t really recall what it sounded like and kinda wish I could hear its voice again to hear what I missed out on. But it was a 19mm string spacing 5’er that I had to let go of and didn’t want to start drilling on it to replace the bridge.
