After reading back what I typed it sounds really confusing lol. So, the tone to me sounds the same the feel of the Low B and the G string "feel" different. Hopefully that's as clear as mud.
I play with the neck straight and action low so there is a lot of bark and what I call Roscoe "rasp" . That is the same on my 34 scale LG6. All of my basses are Ash bodies so they are all more similar than different. The one that the tone sounds different is my SKB 3005 Box Elder built in 2013 with the thinner neck. That one has a bit more naturally compressed sound. It's the only one that sounds objectively different. So I think the neck construction may add more to tonal variety than scale differences in other words.
