Hey, I just wanted to remind everyone that I still have a box of strings that @joebassplayer sent me to test out. There's been some recent discussion about strings, so if anyone wants to try these I'd be happy to ship them to you - no charge. Feel free to keep a set if you like them and pass the rest on to the next person once you've tried them out. They are all 5-string sets.

That's Tony Morton in the middle, former neck maker extraordinaire for Roscoe. Man, I loved his necks. Those super comfortable thin ones from 7-10 years ago. He landed at BVS in Greensboro many moons ago (see link below). Gard on the left, Keith on the right. Victor somebody?!? The tall guy in the back did their electronics assembly for a while, I think his name is Ryan? I don't think I ever met the guy standing between Gard and Tony...

Im very fortunate that all of my six string Roscoe’s have super thin playable necks from the Tony era I presume. I can also vouch for Tony and Sanders upright setups at BVS. Those guys set up both of my old Kay’s and they play like butter. I have brought a few of my Roscoe’s into their shop for them to checkout and tell me if they remember building them. Great guys.

My recently made 6 has a very comfortable neck but may be a bit thicker than some earlier basses. I honestly never gave it a thought until this thread suggested that the early necks were thinner

My 2005 has a thin neck. So thin my thumb has the audacity to want to position itself over the top when I play it.
Anyone know how to get a fair measurement of the neck’s thickness without having a proper calibrated tool?

I’m kinda’ surprised the pickups are in the same spot for all 3 scale lengths… unless they are just making the bodies and adding the pickup routes later?

Well I have a 34 scale lg 6 custom. The tone no, I can feel a difference in the G string being not at taut. It's almost thinner sounding than my 35 scale 5's. It's only really noticeable when doing a slap line but I don't slap on that one much anyways so it's not a big deal. I think the low B sounds fine. I say that then every time I play the others I'm glad they are 35 scale. It's really hard to explain.
