The problem is you think you have a problem with that behavior.

I've been good about not buying any basses lately (i have 2 custom orders due hopefully within the next few months though

Ah words of wisdom. I know you’re right. I have the world’s greatest wife who has known me since I was 19 and doesn't care if I buy 6 basses a day but I still think we all have a threshold where too much is just too much. Fortunately my threshold is fairly wide open lol.

I have the same disease as Scott. It got completely out of control and I was up to over 20 electric basses and almost all my gigs are on upright bass. I have sold much of my excess gear and am now down to a more reasonable number of 8 electric basses and two of those are very inexpensive basses so I have 3 Roscoe basses, a Gould, A Modulus and a Peavey Cirrus. They are all exceptional basses.
After spending years shopping for basses, it takes time to retrain yourself from jumping when something you want is for sale at an attractive price. It ain't easy to change but it can be done.
One other thing, when I get the itch for a new bass I go in my room where I keep my basses and get one out that I have not played recently. That seems to satisfy me. I really wanted that Bubinga top SKB 5 FL that Scott sold but I played my Century 6 FL and said to myself: "Why would you possibly want another fretless when you have this one?"
And now.....back to whatever has your GAS acting up today!
Lucky for me the prices aren't that attractive anymore.
Pedals, yes. Plus I have 18 basses, and am down to one band. 19, if you count the one signed by Paul McCartney, not a player so I don't count it

I've kind of gotten over my GAS for stuff. I did order a new Empress Para EQ Deluxe to use with my Empress Bass Compressor and REDDI. I decided to keep this rig and not go digital for now at least. I have never been a pedal/effects guy so I have that going for me. I am rethinking selling my LG3000. I still don't know how much I'll use it when I get my Century 5 back (hopefully before xmas) but it's a really nice bass. It could use a new bridge as the tuning screws are kind of stuck on a couple strings, and I think someone said the newer type A bridges have a slightly thinner plate so you can get action just a little lower. It's only $150 for a bridge so I may just get it anyway. If it sells it'll sell with a nice new bridge. It is a pretty sweet looking bass.
I've ordered my last few bridges through this place, but looks like they are out of 4 string hipshots at the moment...
