Nice group of #1 basses!

Heard from Keith today. He said it looks great. He’ll try to get me a pic or two when he’s taking some others tomorrow. He’s planning to start assembly next week as he’s booked up this week. Maybe by Christmas?
There are many nice top woods out there, but I really think Koa is my favorite, followed very closely by quilt maple. Looks like water/waves on your bass.

I have to say that that’s one good looking bass, and the first Roscoe that I can recall seeing with 3 pups… and with covers!

I don't know if this is gloss, but it is Koa. Coming soon! I should get it next week! I have always wanted a Roscoe and now I have gone and done it! Beyond excited!
While the koa and the buckeye burl, and the ash, and the quilts and flames are all beautiful- I don't think they compare to the weird, funky, organic, fungal lines of a good spalted maple.
But I think we all agree that Keith really has an almost super human ability to get some absolutely gorgeous pieces of wood.

I”ll see your Spalted Maple and raise you a Boxelder which has moved from a “Two Weeks” holding pattern into “Have it out Soon” territory and most recently has been spotted in the vicinity of “Getting Closer”.

Truth is, any Roscoe, regardless of the woods used, is simply a beautiful instrument. My favorite is always the one (or ones) that I own.

And my favorite right now is Beeswing bubinga with a nice streaky Diamondwood fingerboard …
It's a Century. The third "pickup" is a dummy. Sort of a weird customization -- not sure if it came from Roscoe that way or if it was modified by a previous owner. The idea is you can move the bridge pickup from standard bridge position up to more like a Music Man position, which is where I have it now. The pickups are James Reed and the pre is a John East. Maybe the only Roscoe with that setup? To be honest, I don't love it. The pre gives me option anxiety, and I have a hard time dialing in a tone and sticking with it. After having a few different Roscoes with different pickup and preamp combos, I find Keith's more standard options like Bart and Aguilar work better for me. Almost like the guy knows what he's doing...
