I have one of these. Worth its weight in gold, when you have a FOH engineer or producer that has a bad case of cranial-rectal inversion.

Yes, it is the EMG PAX/JVX with a Pope Flexcore but in a 4 band setup rather than the 3 band that would be typical to Wooten/Fodera.

IMHO not only do you NOT need more than 4 strings, you do NOT even need mags. Roscoe basses do nothing but bark - and are amazing in ANY configuration.

I'm hoping that it will look like it was built in the eighteenth century. If Mozart composed for the electric bass it would have looked like this one. Just very classic and antique.

And I agree. If you're doing tunes that just don't have to have the low B I'd go with a 4 string too. I fell back in love with one a couple years ago. For me though it was a Fender 4 J bass. Probably due as much to the memories as the sound and feel of the bass. I logged many hours of gigs those basses!
That being said, most of my playing these days is in church and most of those tunes just scream for a low B. And when you're not playing the B sting it sure makes for a good ramp!
Very nice Joel. Who built it and tell us a little about it. How's the balance on it? I assume that it has piezo pickup(s)?
I guess I should clarify. I did not get that bass. I just ordered the same paint job.
Oh! For some reason I failed to see your post with the spec's for the new order.

It's mine and if you scroll up - Keith built the piezo-only twins pictured above for me in 1999-2000. He was kind enough to do the finish work for me on this bass. He is such a good friend and he did an awesome job.
This one has a Line 6 Variax transplant so there are 24 basses modeled and blown into the chips. Not really appropriate I suppose on here, as it is not a Roscoe. I designed it and had it built for me from a Stradivarius template I created.
