Probably not the place to post this buttttt.... I have an SKB 3006 custom cedar and exhibition grade quilt (yellow).

if there's anyone out there in roscoe land interested in a trade... I'm dying for an LG 3006 custom... let me know :)

A six is a is a different animal. Transitioning from a four to a five was definitely less trouble for me than the jump from a five to a six. It is almost like learning a completely new instrument. I'm definitely no super talented six player. For most songs I'll stick with one of my fivers.

My biggest obstical to playing a six was myself. When I first started playing a six I'd find myself having trouble and thinking "I could just go back to five strings and not put myself through this grief". Just human nature to gravitate toward something you're comfortable with. You have to want it.

Just MHO. Worth every penny you paid for it.

The bass definitely worth every penny. And you definitely nailed it by sayiing it's human nature to lean towards we are accustomed to. I have to deal with extra string (and muting it), and 2" more scale lenghth. Maybe it was too a jump for me.

My first Roscoe was an SKB3006, I went straight from a 4 string to a 6 string. I kept going back and forth then finally I asked my friend to keep the 4 string at his house (30 min drive away) and I worked at least two hours a night with the bass. I put the strap on the bass and probably adjusted it a dozen times but when I got it adjusted to the perfect spot I practiced standing and sitting wearing the bass. This kept the bass in the same place for both sitting and standing. It probably took me two months to really settle in on the bass but once I did having the B & C strings was awesome.
