Roscoe Club

I wonder has anyone tried a Darkglass Tone Capsule ?
It is calling to me...
....stay tuned, there is one in a box on my desk and it will be in one in a few weeks...

I have one in my Century 5M with a Nordstrand Bigman pickup. Sounds absolutely killer:

I've tried a few different electronics combos in my Century Custom 5M but I think I'm done.

Nordstrand Bigman (custom spacing), 4 way rotary switch: neck/series/parallel/bridge coil, Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp, stacked volume & passive tone knob. So many awesome tones without losing the general MM vibe with the pickup in parallel.

Please excuse the glare in the photo:

Hi Guys, just spotted this thread and thought i'd share the specs of my SKB Custom 6 i ordered a few weeks back:

Lefty SKB 6
Burl Myrtle top
Birdseye board
Bart CB's
Bart preamp
Black hardware

Gard - any idea when the build will get started? :)

I'm a Roscoe virgin so i'm looking forward to getting my hands on it!

I know the order....it will be a bit of time, we're still searching for the perfect top for you! :)

So I am selling my house this year or early next year. With the profits (there will be a lot), my wife told me I could get a new bass! So I'm leaning towards Roscoe because I miss the hell out of mine and have wanted a new one ever since I made that fatal mistake of selling it. :(

I've owned two or three Roscoe's. SKB 3005 and Century Signature 4 (Regret this one BIG time). So my question is where should I look? I want a good deal, and I want a well balanced bass. I found the SKB model to be slightly off balance with some neck dive, but a good strap fixed that. Are they all like that? From what I understand the LG models do that as well. So I'm swaying away from them, but maybe I'm misinformed?

I want a passive/active with barts. I LOVE bart pickups. I would do other obviously as I want something a bit different than what I have, but I'm pretty much loving that tone. Any suggestions are welcome! :)

I cannot speak to LG's.
The upper horn on an SKB ends around the 14th fret, so you add 6 (or so...) tuning machines, a clip-on tuner, a Hipshot DTuner, etc on the headstock and... Yeah - there's going to be some imbalance. Still, they seem to fit me better than the Century, which was comfortable and playable, no question. For lots of people, the reverse is true, so it's a matter of what fits you...

Here's nutdog rockin' his Roscoe at the Star Bar in Atlanta last night. My band opened the show, so we had two Roscoes in the house last night!

Hey fellow Roscoeheads: I've been going back and forth about whether I should keep my Century Standard 4 PJ, or not.

I decided to put it back up for sale in the classifieds for a crazy low price to see if it would sell this Labor Day weekend.

Wish I had the finances. You don't know how bad I want that thing!

I'm back in the club.

SKB3005
Exhibition myrtle burl/spalted/quilted top
One piece cedar body
Bubinga fingerboard
Audere preamp and Roscoe Bart pups

Sounds so sweet. It's got a real nice almost Ken Smith like 'burp' and 'ping' going on. Plus big bottom end. I'm very pleased with this one.
