Bit more info. I have a Ric 4003 strung with Ti flats, a Gretsch with original roundwounds that sound really fat and I don't want to change, and a Fodera with own brand Nickels that I can get most sounds out of with exception of really bright as specced tone woods for a warmer more vintage feel.
Given that I think Id like to err on the bright side for my Century especially focussing on the high mids and highs. We play a lot of Joy Division and New Order covers with a lot of G and D string melodic content.

Thinking drop in replacement of the same parts in black. Looks like a b bridge with .708 spacing and 3/8 hb6 ultralights but just want to be sure.

So this talk of tuner replacement got me thinking about putting some Ultralites on my Roscoe. A set of 5 appeared in Classifieds this week so I got them and installed last night, replacing GB7s.
Overall I'm happy with the weigh reduction (almost 4oz) which brings my bass down to 9lbs 13oz (it's a Mahogany body). Only quirk is the A string... I assume Roscoe positions the holes for the tuners it comes with because the shorter post on the Hipshot makes it stick out less, almost not enough. It's fully usable, but I may end up going to res-o-lites at some point. I assume Hipshot doesn't make a longer post. I'm happy I did it but wanted to point this out for those with similar pipe dreams. Here's a visual/progression...

The hipshots seem like a better fit to me like that . The middle GB7 is sticking way out there.

Apparently the A string tuner hole location can float around a bit .........
Here's a couple pics of new Roscoes from the Roscoe Facebook page and a pic of my 3 year old LG custom ....

The first (Hipshot) is located in a position similar to yours and the second (Gotoh) is closer to the edge of the head stock (somewhat centered on the Purpleheart neck stringer seam). The 3rd is my 3 year old LG Custom (Hipshot).
If the hole location ever changed I would have thought that it would have been based on which tuners were being installed on the bass but yours (which came with Gotoh) is located in a position similar to the current Hipshot is located.

I've tried a few different electronics combos in my Century Custom 5M but I think I'm done.

Nordstrand Bigman (custom spacing), series/single/parallel switch, Darkglass preamp + passive tone knob (pull for passive). So many awesome tones without losing the general MM vibe with the pickup in parallel.

Nope, they released an onboard preamp called the Tone Capsule. It's more or less the lower 3 bands of EQ from a B7K (no treble control). The high mid is something like 2.7kHz so plenty high enough to act "like" a treble control and compliments the passive tone nicely. I actually really like lower treble frequency points (especially when boosting) which is why I also like the Aguilar OBP-1 (4kHz) a lot versus the otherwise more versatile OBP-2/3 (6.5 kHz).

Hey roscoe heads I was wondering if any you have ever seen a wenge/purpleheart/wenge neck. I am thinking of getting a roscoe built in the not to distant future and was wondering if this has been done before. If so anybody got some pics... that would be awesome.

I also replaced the Gotoh tuners on my Century Standard 4 PJ with Ultra-Lites. Very pleased with the out come. My other Century Standard 4 which is a fretless came stock with the Hipshots. Like them much better in regards to the weight and I think they look cooler then the Gotoh tuners!
