Roscoe Club

there is not that many company trade secrets I want to ever want or need to know but i would love to know how they did this white finish

No real secret, you seal the body, use dark pore filler (we use walnut color, it almost looks black, but not completely), then spray thinned white over it, then spray a satin clear over that. :)

We've settled on a date. The GTG will be on the 26th of September, noon to 5:00 p.m. The location will be Joyful Life Baptist Church, 1618 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia.

We're planning a casual gathering. Just bring your favorite instrument(s) so we can all admire and enjoy them. The don't just have to be Roscoes. I'll have one of my rigs there (Genz Benz GBE 750 and a Berantino HT-322). I'm sure a couple others will show up as well.

There will be Georgia Bob's BBQ with "fixin's and sides", some awesome instruments and great people to relax and fellowship with. Just a fun relaxing time. Several of us local guys are really looking forward to it. A good time will be had.

Hope you Roscoeheads can be there. Just drop me a REPLY/MESSAGE so we can make sure to have plenty of food. Hope to hear from you and see you there.

Cheers,
JohnnyR

p.s. Here's a pic, just because they are fun

Looking forward to this GTG! We weren't able to have one last year (for the 1st time in 5 years) so this one's is much needed!:bassist:

And again, I want to stress that while a lot of the regulars that attend are Roscoe owners and lovers, most of us own and love lots of other brand basses. Lot's of cool gear to check out! Most of us are Berg lovers too so lot's of Berg cabinets there too! :)

Good deal on the GTG! I'll be there. The last one sealed my decision to get a Roscoe, so I'm kinda scared of what might happen this time.. :woot:

I think you're right to be a little scared. I ordered my first Roscoe and went to the shop to pick it up. While there taking the tour I picked out a top for my next Roscoe. It sat for a few months but then the build was on. I sold the first one, but the 2nd one has become my main bass for the last few years.

My 3rd build (my 8th Roscoe) is an amazing fretless. I've had it about 5 months. Stunning. Not sure if I have as much use for a fretless as I thought, but I'm holding on to it for now.

What can you tell me about Roscoes with Audere preamps? Is Roscoe putting them in anymore? What's the skinny on this?
The Roscoe site is The Official Reference for questions like this:
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I donno what they might be able to do if you sourced and supplied the parts; that would be a @Gard question.
I'm not completely happy with the electronics in my 3007 (donno what the deal is - must investigate) but I'm thinking that while it's down for hardware update (cosmetic only...) I might investigate a DarkGlass Tone Capsule. Another option...

Yeah that link doesn't reference the Audere. But I know Roscoe was using Audere. At least for a while.

An Audere was original equipment on My Century Signature (fretless). I replaced it with a Bart (wanted a more compressed sound).

I think the Audere is still packed away in the case.

I haven't noticed one coming out of Greensboro in a while.
