Roscoe Club

Only 221 pages for this thread. Too bad Roscoe basses can't get some love.

I have reduced my collection of Roscoe basses down to three:

Fretless Century Signature 3006

SKB Custom 3006

Century 3005...don't know if it is a Custom or Signature.

The fretless remains the absolute favorite of all the thousands of electric basses I've had in my hands. An incredible instrument.

It's arrived. It's unreal(!!)

It's got the Jimmy Haslip slant too. Cool! What are the woods and electronics in it?

Mahogany body
Sapele top
Maple / purpleheart/ maple neck
Zebrawood fingerboard
Roscoe Bart's + Bart pre (classic roscoe tone) with reverse slant pups (which really does make a noticeable difference in my opinion; two thumbs up from me with the reverse slant)

It's everything I was hoping for aesthetically, physically, and tonally.

Seems like forever since I have been on TB, it is good to see Roscoe is still producing the most amazing basses! In December me and Mrs. Crash will be celebrating our 30th anniversary, I told her a new Roscoe would be an awesome present, so Gard, it is an extremely, extremely long shot but if by some chance Mrs. Crash were to contact you...

Century 5
Alder Body
Curly Bubinga Top (dark, light,dark)
Ebony Finger Board (may sub Coco)
Maple/Purpleheart/Maple Neck
19 mm string spacing
Aguilar D4 Pickups
Bart Preamp
Black Hardware
Inlay "R" on Headstock
Gloss Finish

Brown truck dropped it off round noon. cut out early from work and been feeling her out for the last few hours. This bass is incredible. Definitely the most comfortable bass I've ever played. The pics just don't do the faded blue jean top justice. It's incredible! If anyone is thinking of getting this color but is not sure.... do it. I promise you won't be sorry. Their are so many layers of tone I'm getting from this bass. It's going to take awhile to peel back the layers and get my head around this thing. I'm still completely caught up in awe. My hat is off to the guys at Roscoe. I can see how these basses are addicting...

For the last several years we've had a GTG here in middle Georgia. Nothing big, just gathering to admire everyone's gear, fellowship and eat some great BBQ. Scheduling one this year has been a problem. Joe's wife is recovering from surgery, I'm recovering from some "work" on my back, several things have gotten in the way.

Anyway, there may be some light at the end of the tunnel and I'm think'in some time in September might work out.

For planning purposes, any of you Roscoeheads interested in attending so we can work out the details??

We've settled on a date. The GTG will be on the 26th of September, noon to 5:00 p.m. The location will be Joyful Life Baptist Church, 1618 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia.

We're planning a casual gathering. Just bring your favorite instrument(s) so we can all admire and enjoy them. The don't just have to be Roscoes. I'll have one of my rigs there (Genz Benz GBE 750 and a Berantino HT-322). I'm sure a couple others will show up as well.

There will be Georgia Bob's BBQ with "fixin's and sides", some awesome instruments and great people to relax and fellowship with. Just a fun relaxing time. Several of us local guys are really looking forward to it. A good time will be had.

Hope you Roscoeheads can be there. Just drop me a REPLY/MESSAGE so we can make sure to have plenty of food. Hope to hear from you and see you there.

Cheers,
JohnnyR

p.s. Here's a pic, just because they are fun
