Roscoe Club

No rubber.
We must be talking about 2 different things.
Hercules Stands GS455B Hanging Guitar Stand - Universal Clutch, Single

Killer price they've got going right now - I might have to buy another one...

Okay, so what I'm calling 'rubber' is the cushion like thingies that the bass rests on. I have the GS455b.

So, I'm understanding that, since my hangers are new, it will be a tight fit and that I should go ahead and use the Hercules stand and wall hangers, and push the bass into the AGS.

I guess I'm still not understanding.
The GS455B will handle a neck width of 2.2" which is bigger than a 6 (mine, anyway) but smaller than a 7.
I'm not experiencing any tight fits anywhere.
When you say 'the base' are you talking about the flare at the base of the headstock where it is retained by the hanger, or the foam covering on the legs, against which the body rests?

I bought some Hercules wall hangers but I haven't even unwrapped them. I don't think they'll fit my Roscoes, and they're clearly inappropriate for my Steinbergers unless I go for some kind of inverted storage ;-) ....

I meant 'bass' not 'base' (typo). I'm good. From another thread a TB'er explained that the fit will be tight for a bass with a neck 2 3/8'' wide at the neck, and it is. I have to twist the bass into the AGS and twist it to get it out, unlike my other basses.

The GS445B will work well with Roscoe six, I've used mine on two different Roscoe 6s with 19 mm spacing. No snug fit, no twisting it to make it fit

The other two models of Hercules stands I've used would not accept my 6s well at all (snug, twist, etc.). Might want to double check your model number

Anyone here also have a Lakland -02 or -94 with an LH3 pre? I noticed last night that there's a huge output difference between my 44-02 with an LH3 than there is with my LG3005 with the OBP-3. The LH3 is significantly louder.

Well, it's been a while since I had my Lakland, but it looks from Invalid Link Removed like the LH3 has an "input gain" control, which means it can do some boosting of the gain. The OBP-3 is strictly "unity gain", meaning of doesn't boost the signal at all except what's happening on the EQ.

Sup Brandon! I have a 44-02. Like the Bart preamps, it has a trimpot to adjust the output level so yours may be dimed. That being said, I did my first band practice with my 5 string Century (you know that bass very well!) and my recently aquired 4 string Century. First time I've had them together and I found out the 5 with Barts is much higher output than my 4 with the OPB-3 but luckily I can turn down the 5 with the trimpot. That's why I have a 'one bass must have an output trim' rule when pairing them up!

There is a little difference between my 55-94 and my SKB Custom 5 - the Roscoe is a bit louder with the volume max'ed.

Lakland sets their gain from the factory, according to conversations with them, with all the EQ knobs maxed, gain is increased until distortion occurs, and then the gain is backed off to where a clean signal is again found. It's significantly louder than the OBP-3 with everything set flat. I guess I'll have to monkey with the trim on the LH3.

It seems the new stand that I ordered was the GS415B, not the GS445B. My old GS445B, with the plastic yoke, broke and I thought (silly me!) I had reordered the GS445B. So, that's why I'm having the tight issues with the GS415B. All the confusion was on my part...

The Cobalt Flats? I haven't tried them but I've heard them on a youtube vid and they sounded very good. I use Labella 760FL's on some of my basses.
Yeah, the Cobalt flats. It's funny, some people call them that, and some people call them Slinky Flatwounds. Same product. Apparently, Bass Player mag was confused because they reviewed them twice in 8 months!
They are very cool strings. "Flatwounds for people who don't like flatwounds", as a friend of mine put it.

SteveC, when are you going to take my bass out of your avatar?

its mine! I own it. I want to feel like I have the only one that looks like that.. Here it is in "my" living room with a couple other basses trying to move in but.. anyway :bassist:

SteveC, it gets worse, look at of one of my rooms I put basses in.. (I know the junk..) and then look at your avatar again...

image.jpg

I used to have close looking schecter bass that looked similar to yours as well in there..
everytime I see your avatar I think "what the hell, that's my case and bass and etc.." ha

Anyway it's just something funny I keep seeing..

On to the outside world now..
