Roscoe Club

That 'C' string is also good for 'A' string root barre chords. Fills the chords out with that high 3rd interval. From the 'A' string down, it's like playing a guitar, which I do, and I like that!!!

It's still early, though! The slant PU are an issue at this point.

Okay, so the thick neck makes it difficult to hang it from the Hercules wall hangers/guitar stands that I have. It's like there needs to be (and maybe there is) a hanger/stand for 6'ers, and the body style of this LG does not let me sit the bass into my A-frame stand without removing the chord. If I leave the chord in the base has to lean to the left (it's too new for me to be comfortable with that). Trivial things I suspect.

What are you other 6'ers doing?

I don't get the whole 4 string desire, I'm not criticizing, I have 6 myself, but haven't touched any of them in over 6 months. They seem limited or limiting IMO. And since I don't slap, and I select my basses for light weight, the 4s don't have an advantage there either.

Just curious, not stirring the pot.

I play a 4 differently than a 5. When I'm on the 4 I'm a little looser and more adventurous because it's easier (for me) to do chords and the occasional slap or tap. But when I can only bring one bass I of course bring the 5, but to me the 4 is more fun.

I agree. I wish the market was better. I'd be tempted to sell my fretless and get that transparent white P/J 4 thats for sale. Can't imagine not playing a Roscoe...although I don't think I have ever played a Roscoe 4 string.

There's a sweet 4 string Century with dual humbuckers in the classifieds as well for the same price. It's got a beautiful wenge fingerboard. When I decided to buy, I looked at those two along with the one I eventually chose which was the 4 string Century Custom. All were the same price and I chose that Custom mainly because I knew I'd never be able to buy one like it new.

If you leave the cord plugged in, the battery will run out.
There's an Ultimate stand that has more of a V shaped holder that will fit a 6er.

But if I just ran out of beer or needed to empty my bladder, I have to unplug from the head, then unplug from the bass... would be much easier to sit it down plugged in all for just a few minutes, but I do understand what you are saying and battery life is important.

True, but I don't like leaving it plugged in b/c either me or someone may trip over the cord and the bass ends up getting pulled over.

I think it would be another area of the bass market Roscoe could do very well. I think Roscoe should make at least one and put it out there. I think it would do better than Gard thinks it will.

I think I will buy a Fender and create a decal with Rosceaux Guitars and apply it to the headstock. :D

Yeah, I think if I want to go passive 4 it may be something non Roscoe at this point.
