Is that headstock painted? I prefer them not to be.

Hey, if I wanted a Steinberger, I'da bought a Steinberger.Eventually, I will have nothing with a headstock....
...who...me???
Headless is now a $500 option, not a $750 option.

Eventually, I will have nothing with a headstock....I agree, the headstock we have is great, but from the ergonomic side of things, the headless just WORKS BETTER.

I have to admit a bit of bias, but I'm pretty partial to this one:

Where's the Roscoe "R" and Keith's signature on the headless model? Without that how would you even know what kind of bass you own? That is a really good looking bass! Believe it or not ...... I even like the Satin Chrome hardware on this one!

That would be cool. Then I could have a Roscoe and passive 4 string all in one. It's interesting that - except for Jimmy Haslip and Nathan East - almost all of the guys I grew up admiring/copying played 4 string basses, yet I tend to prefer 5 string - with a 4 string urge.
I don't see that style of headstock ever happening - our shape is too iconic to not use....
The 2x2 headstock would not look good on the Fender style body. I think going with an inline headstock would be the way to go. Call it something like the Roscoe Retro.
Alas, I fear a Lakland DJ4 or a G&L LB-100 may lie in my future.

I don't get the whole 4 string desire, I'm not criticizing, I have 6 myself, but haven't touched any of them in over 6 months. They seem limited or limiting IMO. And since I don't slap, and I select my basses for light weight, the 4s don't have an advantage there either.
Just curious, not stirring the pot.
I'll give you my first impression shortly.... this is my first 6'er, so there is some adjustment time required..
